Weekend in Utah

Trev's parents came to Utah a few weekends ago. We decided to go down and see them and Chad. It was quite an eventful weekend to say the least. We decided to leave at 4 in the morning to drive down. It was a good and bad idea. Good because Kirra slept the whole time, bad because it was 4 in the morning!!!! I didn't really sleep on the way down so I was tired pretty much the whole time we were there.
When we got there at around 9, we met with the family at kneaders for breakfast. Trevor was really excited about all you can eat french toast. I am not a french toast fan but I did have a delicious croissant. Then we had to drop Chad off at work:( Bust we got to spend the day with mom and pop Martinez. We went up to Provo Canyon and had the best day just hanging out enjoying the beautiful leaves and long boarding. Trevor and his dad were long boarding and having a blast. Trevor's dad is like an 18 year old trapped in a....I don't actually know how old he is, but I know he doesn't seem very old. When we picked up chad later we went to Sam's club to get him stocked up on food for him for the year!!! Then I went with Chad to drop off the food, and got to meet all his room mates. And finally we met up with everyone at Brazillian Express! So delicious!!!We wanted to do some more fun stuff after dinner but everyone was so exhausted that we just went to bed. Oh and side note-Earlier this same day, Trevor wanted me to ride the bike next to him while he went running. I took his dad's bike and it was a little too big for me so a little hard to control. I fell over and when I was trying to get back on and get going again I guess I rode through a patch of stickers. I popped both his dads tires and it took us almost an hour to pull all the stickers out. There were soooo many and I felt really bad.
Anyways, they got started on their bike ride a little late the next day because of this. SO the boys went up into the canyon to bike and Sherrie and I picked up Kaylie and we got a picnic ready and then headed up to the canyon to meet the boys. Kirra LOOVED Kaylie. Kaylie had the magic touch and put Kirra right to sleep. We had a really nice picnic but then we had to leave because there was a BYU game that we were trying to get to. We were really late and I felt bad because I knew Chad had gone to a lot of trouble to get the tickets and I really wanted to go to the game because I had never been to one. As we were walking into the game though we saw a ton of people leaving. We found out that BYU was way ahead and there was no chance of a come back so instead of buying an extra ticket that we needed, Chad, me, and Michael went in for a few minutes, and Trevor, Kirra, and Sherrie had some bonding time. The football game was fun. Chad had to teach me all the different BYU rituals and introduce me to a cougar tail. It was really fun, even if we only stayed for half an hour. By the time we were done, we everything from that morning, I was to tired. I took a little nap and Chad went to work and everyone else played in the park. We decided after a couple hours to resting to split up. Sherrie, Kirra, and I went to the mall to do some much needed shopping, and Trev and his dad went hiking. We all met up later at Red Robin for delicious ham burgers and after filling our bellies, we all just wanted to sleep. It was a very BUSY weekend but so much fun. I had to recover few a few days after we got home. Im glad we got to spend time with out family, I want Kirra to have a close relationship with all her aunts and uncles and grandparents. Family is the most important thing to me and I can say that I love all my inlaws so much and I'm so glad they are part of my family now.

So these are backwards but here we are at my first BYU game! Loved the atmosphere.
Kaylie working her magic

cousins!
But she warmed up to him pretty quick. He is the one who started that whole tongue thing
So this was actually taken first. She did not want to get on Chad's back

What am I gonna do with these two.

I'm gonna have to invest in a lot of helmets and knee pads.

Kirra month 1-4

So my sister in law is awesome at putting up a new picture of my niece Jilly every month so you can see her progression but I am not so good. I did it the first month, then it just didn't happen. But I am gonna get better. Kirra turns 5 months in 3 days and I am going to get a 5 month picture. Until then, here is the best I could do for month 1-4.

1 day
1 month
2 months and some spit up
3 months
And 4 months. She loves the ketchup bottle for some reason

Yellowstone

I have lived in Idaho for four years and until this summer I had never been to Yellowstone. Every time my family would go I would have classes or something else going on. My dad promised me this year that when he came out at the end of June he would take me. We decided to go on a weekday because it would be less crowded. I was so excited when I woke up that morning. I knew it would be a long day but I had not gotten to spend some real quality time with my parents in a while. Unfortunately Whitney and Ben could not come so it was just My parents, me, Trevor, and Kirra. The drive up was nice. Kirra slept most of the time. It was a beautiful day and we had the best scenery. We had fun talking and checking out the different sight. My dad was in his element. He loves to drive around and see things and he knew his way around Yellowstone. I had fun with my new camera taking a thousand pictures. My main goal for the trip was to see Old Faithful. It is a major landmark and I was determined to see the thing blow. We were about 15 minutes away from Old Faithful when we hit some major traffic. My mom and Trevor got out of the car to see what the hold up was. It turns out there was a herd of buffalo blocking the road. We thought they would get out of the way but we were stuck behind them for more than 2 hours. About half an hour before we were stopped by the buffalo I had to pee. After two hours of waiting in buffalo traffic and having just had a baby a month earlier I could not hold it any longer. I had to go. There was no bathroom and sight and we were surrounded by other cars so I could not go behind a tree. I was forced to go in the back of the suburban and very discretely without the car behind us seeing, pee in a cup. To say it was an embarrassing moment in my life would be an understatement. I think that all cars should be equipped with toilets so this does not happen to anyone else ever!
Anyway TMI I know. We finally got past the buffalos and made it to Old Faithful. I was not expecting the thing to shoot off as high as it did. I thought maybe a little gush of water but I was definitely impressing. It was well worth the wait. By the end of the day we were all exhausted especially my parents. I think we wore them out. It was such a good day though and a great memory that I will have forever.

We had lots of treats for the road...Kirra went a little overboard

Kirra's Blessing

Sorry for these random and out of order posts. I am trying to play catch up. I actually want to print my blog out at the end of the year and use it as my journal. So onto the story.

At the end of the June, Kirra was one month old and we had her baby blessing. It was such a special day. For the weekend Trevor's parents and brother Bryan came into town to celebrate with us. Also my mom and dad were in town so we had a lot of family support which was nice. It was kind of a sad weekend for Trevor because Friday night he had a big volley ball game and really hurt his ankle bad. He usually has all kinds of boy fun when his family comes to town. We spent most of the weekend just hanging out around the apartment. We did get to go see Thor at the dollar movie which was fun. I left Kirra with her two grandma's for the first time while we went to the movies. I have to admit it was a nice break. Sunday morning was very busy. We had a lot of cooking and preparing to do because after the blessing we were going to the park for a picnic. My mother in law Sherrie made Kirra's blessing dress and it was adorable! It was so fun getting her dressed up. I bought a new outfit for the occasion but I was not feeling very adorable. I was still feeling a little large from pregnancy. I think that is normal though. I was so excited for Kirra's blessing and a little nervous for Trevor. He didn't seem nervous. He told me that a blessing comes from the Lord so he didn't think about what he was going to say before hand. I was a little surprised at how short her blessing was but it was beautiful and to the point. She was blessed to gain a knowledge of her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and to know that they loved her and that her family loved her. I think that if she can learn those things and accept them, she will be just fine. I feel very blessed to have had both sides of my family at the blessing. It was a wonderful feeling to spend such a special day with all the people we love. I think the best part of the day besides the actual blessing was the food. We had delicious food and lots of it. We all met up at the park after and had such a fun time talking and enjoying each others company. It was a perfect day for my sweet baby girl's blessing.

Trevor's Aunt Julie and cousins Taylor, Kyle, and Amanda also came for the blessing.

My cute family...missed my 3 younger brothers thoug
Trevor and his brother Bryan. Trevor has awesome brothers.

Photography

So I have been in school since 2005 and I have had just about every major you can think of and still have no bachelors. Everyone just keeps telling me to finish and just get any degree but I want to find something that I actually have passion for. I want to be happy with the work I do and I want to find something that I love learning about and I can continue to learn about. Also I want to find something that lets me be a mom and still have something I can be working on.
I took my first photography class this semester and I am loving it. We are really just learning what inspires us and how to take a good picture. I don't have the best camera but I have really loved some of the pictures that I have taken with it. Hopefully I can continue down this photography path. It could take me years to actually get my bachelors but I think it will be worth it because it will be something that I love.

My mom is a great model because she loves having her picture taken with her grandkids.
I hope Nicolette doesn't kill me for posting these but I think she looks beautiful.

Kirra of course was my best model, up until 3 months when she started moving a lot more. She still has the sweetest smile
This was my very first photo shoot. haha Love this little face.

Dad & Daughter

Trev and Kirra have way too much fun together. The second he walks in the door she lights up. She is constantly copying everything he does and vice-versus . I think between the two of these trouble makers I have my work cut out for me.
